About

I am a 36 year old writer originally from New Providence, New Jersey.  We currently reside in central North Carolina.  Married to Amy for seven years and father to two cats, Reagan (after my childhood hero, our 40th President) and Cassie (whose naming I cannot be held responsible for).

After the events of 2009, starting with the inauguration of Barack Obama leading up to the attempted bombing of Flight 253 in Detroit, I realized that I as an American citizen need to get busy.   Our country’s institutions are under attack, from our public schools to our health care system, from the courts to our businesses, and I, like millions of other citizens, are sick of it.

Yes, I am a Christian, and I am a conservative.   I am very proud of both things.   To me, to be conservative is to be compassionate by definition.  Therefore, the term “compassionate conservatism” is redundant.    I believe in American exceptionalism, the voluntary exchange of goods and services we call the free market, and private property rights.  I believe in doubleheaders on grass in the summertime, hot dogs with mustard on the Fourth of July,  and that most conspiracy theorists are nitwits.

This blog is a daily look at the day’s events from my own perspective.  I’ll write about sports and movies and whatever else I’m thinking when I sit down.  I consider myself one of America’s Israel Bissells, though, and the most important goal I have in mind is being a cog in the machine that returns this country to a country run by citizen representatives, not professional politicians.

Thanks for reading, and please do comment.
